Curatorial Statement

welcome to hope you have a good time. this first installment is a 1-day group show featuring 30+ los angeles and southern california-based artists. This group show explores fulfillment and personal interests through the lens of individual subjectivity. simultaneously, this concept acknowledges the challenge people face in knowing what to spend their time doing. in an overstimulating environment, allowing ourselves to slow down enough to listen to what resonates with us is an act of self-care, and a crucial step to having a good time.

all of the artists in this show are sharing pieces that explore this theme in one of three ways

  1. the artist is providing a good time for the observer of the art
  2. the artist is experiencing a good time in the act of creating the project
  3. the art itself is seemingly experiencing a good time

as a group show, we are ecstatic to share art mediums including photography, sculpture, painting, film, poetry, and more. in addition to the variety of mediums, the pieces delve into potential opportunities of what humans can do to experience fulfillment. from snorkling with wildlife off the california coast, to attending a concert, or having a picnic.

as a guest, this show invites you to consider what it looks like to have a good time and experience fulfillment. enjoy the art, talk to artists, talk to your friends or a stranger, or create at our craft table. thank you for being here and sharing space with everyone today.

hope you have a good time
